Dominio

2011

Flat shattered in pieces and then reconstructed

Dominio recreates the interior of a studio flat that has been destroyed and then repaired by being glued back together. The piece evidences the traces of what was once shattered and at the same time of that that was a whole, exposing a tension between the viewer and its surroundings. It delves into the way that problematics penetrate the inner life; walls and windows don’t protect anymore, as violence and instability have crossed our ultimate refuge: our home. It is the result of a social breakdown along with the energy that lies beyond things and its power of being reconstructed.

“Dominio” is an installation produce in Collaboration with Tomas Espina during a two months residency in 2011 at Mac/Val (Musée D’Art Contemporain Du Val-De-Marne) France.
